Couples Counseling and Therapy in the Hague
Therapy to Help Strengthen Your Relationship
Thriving relationships are like a well tended garden. They require commitment, care, and attention.
It can be hard to admit that your relationship needs help. Couples counseling is a way to help you understand what your relationship needs to grow and thrive.
Reasons to consider Couples Counseling:
- Feeling disconnected and stuck in your relationship
- Not knowing how to communicate effectively
- Feeling distant and defensive
- Wanting to bring new energy into the relationship
- Feeling like you need some extra tools or communication skills
- Feeling like you aren’t on the same page anymore.
During sessions Cammi uses evidence based Gottman therapy techniques and psychodynamic techniques to help you understand where your conflicts arise from and how to work with them. Cammi has completed the Gottman levels 1, 2 and 3 and offers couples counseling in-person and online.

Our approach is strength based and we see conflict as an important part of the process.
Conflict in a relationship is not a sign of an unhealthy relationship, but conflict that is not treated with curiosity and compassion can lead to resentment and harm.

How Does it Work?
Before we get started on counseling, we’ll begin with a thoughtful assessment to understand where you’re both at in your relationship and what you’re hoping to achieve together. This will help set us up for success. The process includes:
- A 90-minute session where we’ll explore the story of your relationship, focusing on how you communicate and navigate conflict. We’ll zero in on the patterns that show up when things get tough, looking at what works and what doesn’t. Using the Gottman Method, we’ll explore how you manage these moments and how we can shift things for better connection.
- An online questionnaire, The Relationship Check-Up, which will help us identify where you’re thriving and where things may need a little more attention. We’ll look at communication, conflict styles, shared values, and how you each contribute to the emotional climate of your relationship.
- A 50 minute individual session where each of you gets space to share your own perspective—your personal needs, desires, and any concerns you might have. This is a time to get clear on your own feelings and goals, which will help us work through things as a couple.
- A 90-minute feedback session where we’ll sit down and go over everything we’ve learned together. I’ll provide specific, research-based feedback on your relationship’s strengths and areas that need more focus. Using tools from the Gottman Method, I’ll give you practical recommendations to help improve communication, manage conflict, and build a deeper emotional connection. The goal is to give you both the tools to keep growing as a couple.
- How many sessions follow the assessment depends on your unique situation, but many couples find that after just the first session, they start noticing shifts and have a sense of where to focus their energy for lasting change. We’ll be working together to build skills that support a more secure, resilient partnership for the long haul.
Please note the relationship Check-up is an additional 39.00 USD per couple
